Making Brown Rice Good

About every few weeks I search, ” Actually great tasting brown rice recipes”

and today I was inspired by, Cookies and Kate. I found her recipe for brown rice risotto and I looked up a basic risotto recipe and ran from there.

 

Here is what I came up with.

 

Brown Rice risotto Ingredients
  • 2 bags of Microwavable Brown Rice (judge me but it’s amazing)
  • 1 Tbsp of Olive Oil
  • Asparagus (or any other veggie)
  • 1 Tbsp of minced onions
  • 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Chicken or protein of your liking
  • 1/2 cup Organic Cream of Mushroom
  • 1/2 Tbsp Oregano
Steps:
  1. In a large pan heat olive oil, onion, and garlic
  2. Once everything is browned pour 2 cups of water and bay leaves into the pan
  3. Let the water boil and feel free to add any other spices
  4. Once water is boiling add in both bags of rice and let the rice soak up all of the liquid
  5. Turn down heat and add in Cream of mushroom, asparagus, and oregano
  6. You are done!
  7. Serve with chicken or more veggies!
