Raw Juice is great! I love getting some and drinking it as an afternoon snack, it’s a great way to get more vegetables and fruit in your diet…But vegetables and fruit are not the only place our bodies need nutrients from. Juices are lacking in: Dairy, Starches, and protein. And although people loose tons of weight from ‘juicing’ but it’s not a life long diet so the results after a ‘juicing’ period don’t normally last. Also some doctors say it might slow down our metabolisms.
When I was doing more research on the effects of Juicing I found a quote of the Mayo Clinic website that I full heartily stand by “For lasting results, your best bet is to eat a healthy diet based on fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean sources of protein.” People love to say whole grains, carbs, and dairy are “bad” for you but really our body needs variety and a little something from each food group.
Life is all about balance and our diets need to be balanced and full of varitey so we can take care of them and have enough energy to really live!
